Some Baby Jams

Not to be confused with jammie jams or jelly jam, but the jams you rock out to! Monday your dad and I discovered that the Dave Matthews Band has a lullaby rendition aldum! Here is a sample of his song Crash for babes.
We were super excited and your daddy was able to find an entire album on Amazon. He also discovered a Bob Marley aldum. We will be buying you a rendition of DMB's aldum soon, and playing you these beautiful songs!

Hopefully you'll become a fan just like us!

Letters to baby #15

Baby girl,
For whatever reason today I became a little worried about you. These irrational fears and silly snowball scenarios are nothing new for me. They are something that have become less frequent in my adult life - but they still show up every now and again.

Anyway, while at work I became fearful for your health. I was worried that if you have a disability, that I might not be able to handle it, or that it would cause stress on your dad and I. I reminded myself that God is bigger than a disability or irrational fears and He won't give us anything we can't handle.

I started to pray for you. I put my hands on my belly and quietly spoke this verse "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by payer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6. I said it again and emphasized WITH THANKSGIVING, and you gave me a little kick. I just stopped on that phrase for a moment and smiled to myself. With THANKSGIVING, I will praise God and honor whatever He chooses to give your daddy and I.

Love
Mommy

Letters to baby #14

My sweet baby girl,
Last night was the first time your daddy felt you kick! I was sitting on the love seat and could somewhat feel you moving around. I moved to the couch so I could lay flat and your dad sat beside me and put his hand on my belly.

You didn't budge.

It's almost as if you knew I wanted you to move, so you didn't do anything! I'm going to say you get that from your father :)

So I did what any "good" mother would do, and I had a small bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup! About 5 minutes after I devoured the ice cream you went nuts! I very quietly called you dad over again, as to not disturb you. He stood this time (thinking I was just silly and he wouldn't be able to feel anything). Within seconds of his hand on my belly you gave him one of the biggest kicks I've felt so far. He gasped then looked at my belly then one of the sweetest smiles flashed across his face.

That was the first interaction he's had with you and it just filled my heart and eyes with so much love and joy for our new little family.

You kept on moving the rest of the night and continued to go crazy when we were in bed. Your daddy put his hand on my belly while we were laying next to each other and the kick you gave him made him jump! He said "wow, that scared me!" You gave a few small kicks, nothing he could feel, then the 3 of us drifted off to sleep.

It is so amazing being able to feel you moving, jumping, kicking and punching! I know in just a few short weeks it's going to be a painful, but this has to be one of the coolest feeling I've ever experienced!

I love you my little wild child,
Mommy

Bump 20 weeks

How far along: 20 weeks & 4 days HALF WAY THERE!
Total weight gain/loss: 10 (120 to 130)
Maternity clothes: BellaBand (did the hairband trick this week, and loved it!) and long shirts
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope
Sleep: Great! I'm not waking up anymore, which is great!
Food cravings: Chips and salsa
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Best moment(s) this week: I started painting the nursery closet and registering with your daddy! (picture below)
Worst moment(s) this week: I went to the cardiologist because my heart has been fluttering and racing a lot more than normal. This was something I experienced from about 15-20. Since then it only happened occasionally. It has been happening even more and the racing lasts longer, so after having an EKG, and an Echo, I have to wear an event card (like a holter monitor) for 30 days!
Miss Anything: Nope
Movement: Yup!
Belly Button in or out: In - it's starting to flatten out even more!
Wedding rings on or off: On

Bye bye yellow!

And this is the start of a blanket one of your Daddy's co-workers is making for you. People love you SO much already!

We had another low key St. Patty's day, but I did decorate the chalkboard!

Boy or Girl?!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!
Welcome to the world baby GIRL!

Letters to baby #13

Hello my sweet precious baby,
Just hours from now your dad and I get to find out if you're a BOY or GIRLFor the record, I think you're a boy - I had a dream last night that you were!

Last night was the first time I've heard your dad really get excited about you! It's not that he hasn't been happy, he just has not been able to feel you moving and nothing in our day-to-day lives has changed (except we both can see that my belly is a little bigger!) so it does not feel real to him.

As we were getting into bed he said "are you excited?!" (lots of excitement in his voice!) I said "yeah! are you?" he said "yeah, it's finally feeling real!" Then when I got to work this morning your dad sent me a text that said "less than 6 hrs babe!" You'll probably know by now that I am the one to do countdowns and I am the one to voice my excitement. I'm just so happy that he is voicing his excitement and counting down the hours until we can start calling you by name. He must really love you already!

This weekend, Kent Koteskey, preached a sermon on Parenting. As we were leaving the parking lot I told your dad that I'm not nervous to become a parent but rather I'm excited to take on this journey with your daddy and work together as partners to raise you the way God would want us to. Having your dad in my life has made this journey (and my life!) so much less scary then if I had to take this journey alone.

Whether you're a boy or girl,
I love you!
