Offensive Comment #3

I should start this post by saying if any of my co-workers are reading this they would know exactly who I'm referencing as "co-worker" in this conversation and they would not at all be shocked by his their rude comment:

Co-worker opens the door for me as I waddle gracefully walk down the hall.

Co-worker: Here let me get that for you
Me: Oh, thanks!
Co-worker: Man (looks me over) you're getting (hand gestures width wise as to say "big and fat") you're getting ready to do this thing.
Me: gee thanks
Co-worker: You're getting, you're legs are getting nice and swollen
Me: Oh wow. Thanks. Please continue with this. Keep going.
Co-worker: Well, I just noticed it, you're legs are getting big!
Me: Well thank you, you're really boosting my self esteem...
Co-worker: When is the date again?
Me: July 31
Co-worker: Holy smokes, are you sure it's not June 1st
Me: Ok stop talking. You're not my favorite anymore.

Bump 30 Weeks!

How far along: 30 weeks & 3 days
Total weight gain/loss: 21 (ugh, why did I ever think this was a good question to ask myself every week?!)
Maternity clothes: Yes or leggins and loose shirts, my sleep/comfy shirts are becoming VERY tight around my belly. I swear my shirts are shrinking ;)
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Eh not bad, but I'm starting to feel uncomfortable when laying down, rolling over and sleeping in.
Food cravings: Nope, everything is sounding good (hmm...maybe I can't blame those 21 lbs. ALL on you?!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not at all!
Best moment(s) this week: Working on your chair. Not that I really enjoyed it, but I'm happy that project is getting closer to completion! I ran into a few bumps along the way, but it's looking good! I'm also soaking up alone time with your dad and I think he is too. We've become so much closer these past few weeks and are savoring our last few weeks of alone time. It's hard to explain but I really think that both your dad and I have learned to appreciate each other a lot more. Our conversations are more undistracted and intentional and we've been laughing together a lot more. We're also getting very excited to meet you! We went on another date Friday night! I also had my last baby shower with my side of the family. I was a little sad that all the festivities and celebrations are now over but that just means you're almost here and we can celebrate your arrival WITH you very soon!! Papa Tom and your daddy hung the bookshelves this weekend.
Worst moment(s) this week: Nothing really comes to mind, besides feeling a little more crowded in my belly, but that's not anything I would say is bad - you're getting so big and strong!
Miss Anything: one. guess.
Movement: Yes!
Belly Button in or out: Out (a friend called me out on this one. Only half of my odd shaped belly button is out, but you can clearly see that something is out - so we're going with OUT!)
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and antsy to finish the nursery!
Weekly Wisdom: Use a heating pad on your back to help with the aches and pains. Then stretch.
Symptoms: Right in between my shoulder blades is really hurting, like it needs to crack. I won't go into details but panty liners have become a daily accessory of mine.
Looking forward to: Finishing your chair and bedskirt. Putting away all the shower gifts. AND escaping with your daddy!!!

Bump 29 Weeks

How far along: 29 weeks & 3 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 19+
Maternity clothes: Yes or leggins and loose shirts (outfit above)
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Sleep has been a little better this week, but still not that great.
Food cravings: Nothing really this week
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Best moment(s) this week: I got to catch up with a friend that I used to work with, then your dad took my on a surprise date night (back to the same restaurant). M
y friend, Meghan, having her baby - Elise! When I held Elsie, you were kicking her! Going to Michigan to see some of the family (photos below), and your dad volunteering to rub my neck because my head hurt and I didn't feel well. I was so happy he asked me when he did because I was laying on the couch not feeling well and starting to think about labor then feeling very anxious about it. Your dad is pretty awesome!
Worst moment(s) this week: Been having cramps in the evenings and starting to slow down again
Miss Anything: A nice cold beer on the back patio
Movement: Yes! You're a little acrobat! Your dad and Nana got to feel some of your big moves!
Belly Button in or out: Half out
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and starting to feel nervous about labor.
Weekly Wisdom: I've got nothing this week
Symptoms: My feet are starting to swell a little, I'm feeling out of breath sooner than usual. I'm pretty sure braxton hicks have started and I have been having some minor cramping in the evenings.
Looking forward to: Another family shower next weekend! Hopefully getting bins for your closet.

In Other News...

I started to paint your chair! I washed the chair really well a week ago, then spray painted it Monday and Tuesday. When I put the second coat on Tuesday some areas of the chair started to wrinkle. I'm not sure what the cause was (humidity, the paint from Monday had not dried all the way or something else). I sanded some of those areas down and I think I will paint the remainder of the chair using leftover white paint from your room.

We went to Michigan to see your cousin Ian's last performance with Company C. He is not having a graduation party so this was kind of our family celebration. It was nice to get up to Chelsea since it had been a few years since your dad and I last went up there.

Letters to baby #18 - My first Mothers Day

My baby girl,
Today is my first mothers day. I have not been a mommy long, but these last few months I have been one have been amazing. I've experienced a lot of physical and emotional changes. Every one of these changes has far exceeded my expectations of pregnancy and motherhood.

Even when I've had little sleep, I just think of you and know that all of this will be worth it. I can't wait to kiss your sweet face, and snuggle you on the couch. Someday when you're pregnant, you will know exactly what I'm feeling. It's hard to know this feeling until you've felt your baby's arms and legs kicking inside your womb.

Already, I feel so blessed and honored to be your mommy. I'm still scared to be fully responsible for another human, but I know that with your daddy's help - we can take care of you. It's a strange feeling of mixed emotions. I'm 100% confident and 100% terrified. The terrified days are slowly fading away while my confidence starts to outshine my fears. My Aunt Mimi told me in the very beginning "that's why God gives us 9 months to prepare." I am so thankful that we get that time to prepare for the changes ahead.

This time next year you'll be crawling. I'll be exhausted. We'll be poor. But your dad and I will be the happiest we've ever been - because of you.

I love you baby girl. Thank you for making me a mommy

Bump 28 Weeks

Happy Mothers Day!
How far along: 28 weeks 4 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 19 (holy moly!)
Maternity clothes: Yes, I can't really wear my normal clothes anymore unless they were big on me to begin with or are maxi dresses
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope!
Sleep: Boo. Sleeping has NOT been good this week. I'll wake up hungry or just wired and start to feel anxious about getting the nursery and house clean.
Food cravings: Nothing really this week. Just enjoying my sweets. Thank you Lord - I passed my glucose test!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not a thing.
Best moment(s) this week: Surprise Bunco baby shower (pictures to come), Celebrating Mothers day for the frist time, and starting the third trimester.
Worst moment(s) this week: Not sleeping well, and being moody because of it. Nesting has set in but I've been so busy and tired that I can't do anything once I'm home.
Miss Anything: Just my usual!
Movement: Yes! You have been moving a LOT this week and I love it! (Except when I'm trying to go to sleep!)
Belly Button in or out: Half out!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week I've been grumpy because of the lack of sleep, but there is an underline joy that is still there.
Weekly Wisdom: Stretch on the yoga ball

Symptoms: For the last few weeks my feet have been really achy. Now my hips are a little sore - must be getting wider! Also, at about week 20 I noticed my vision started to get worse. I have bad vision to begin with but things are more blurry for me. I hear this gets better after pregnancy.
Looking forward to: Working on the rocking chair (I didn't have a chance this weekend. It was either raining or too windy and cold)

We spent Saturday looking for patio furniture pads, umbrella stand and umbrella. We found some and were very please with the "grown-up" backyard!

  Celebrated Mothers Day
I got these flowers from your Grandma Baker!

I got this bracelet from your Aunt Megan. She got it in Sichwan Province, China

This was from your daddy (I picked it out). It has your name on it and a Mother Of Pearl. Later we can add your birth stone. Since you're due on July 31, we didn't want to get your birth stone since you might be here in August!

My Second Trimester - Surprises

The second trimester didn't bring as many surprises as the first, but I still had a few things that I was surprised by:
